Ellie’s Fund

Ellie’s Fund

This is a call to arms for parents and baby groups in Sheffield: Rosalind Watchorn Solicitors need your empty baby wipe packets!

Why? We are supporting Ellie’s Fund Brain Tumour Trust in their Wipe Out Waste initiative, raising money for the charity by recycling the empty packets. We have just set up a drop off point in our office for the wipes and are hoping to involve more local parents in the scheme by raising awareness and hopefully encouraging you to save and bring in your empty packets.

Ellie’s Fund Brain Tumour Trust was set up after founder Heather Othick sadly lost her daughter Ellie. It’s a local charity which aims to raise money for children and young people in Yorkshire and the Humber who have a brain tumour, raise money for brain tumour research and raise awareness.

How can you help?

Parents: By collecting your empty baby wipes! Each pack will raise 2 pence for Ellie’s Fund, so please bring yours in – whether you have 2 packets or 20! All brands are accepted and we have set up a collection point in our reception – accessible via Priory Road.

Baby Groups: We would be really grateful if you would consider raising awareness of the scheme by either talking to your clients, putting up a poster or handing out flyers for the drop off point. If you would like to get involved you can email me directly at: [email protected]

Why Are We Involved?

Partner Rebecca Linsell is mother to twins Tilly and Ted, and is also Treasurer of the Sheffield Twins and Multiples Club – as a result she is never short of baby-wipe packets and has been collecting the packs at home over the past year. Recent changes to the scheme have meant that the packets can only be sent off in bulk, so – concerned that this might negatively impact the charity – we set up a drop-off point for the packets in our office.

The money raised from the collection of any baby wipe packet will go to the brain tumour research laboratory in Leeds and to support children who are going through treatment. Since 2010 Ellie’s Fund BTT has raised over £108 000, supported 31 children and sent £40 000 to the research lab.

Finally – if you are on Facebook or Twitter we would be really grateful if you could spread the word amongst your friends by sharing this page. We want to engage as many Sheffield parents with the campaign as possible!
